Intro

Resend is a fully-remote company, so it's always a special treat to gather in community.

We love to attend and host events to meet new friends, strengthen existing relationships, and listen to our users.

Types of events we attend

We enjoy many different kinds of events.

  • Conferences: developer conferences like React Miami, Laracon, and Next Conf
  • Hackathons: in-person or online hackathons like Supabase Select or our MCP hackathon
  • Meetups and happy hours: informal gatherings to foster development community, like our DevTools Meetups
  • Online events: live events teaching deliverability and other email-related topics

See our recent events and where we're headed next on our events page.

How we choose our events

We consider several things when we're deciding which events to attend and host.

  • Relationships. Which communities are we interested in building or strengthening? Who do we know, or want to know?
  • Location. Where do people already gather? Can we host events close to our team members, or near another event that we're attending?
  • Interest. Which events do we personally want to attend? What would we find value in?
  • Timeliness. We like to stay up-to-date on what's happening in the world of DevTools and AI. When we think we can meaningfully add to the conversation, we'll share our thoughts and encourage others to do the same.

What is our event philosophy?

Events connect us to people. Our first priority is never to sell.

We invite our whole team to attend, because community inspires us. It's not just the same DevRels attending every event. We bring software engineers, designers, support engineers, founders: everyone.

We craft had-to-be-there experiences.

Every detail matters. The food should be good, and it should never run out. The swag should be interesting. Everything should feel premium: even disposable cups and plates.

Sometimes, craft means wiping down tables and taking out the trash. We leave venues better than we found them. We say "thank you" to security staff and delivery drivers.

What we want the experience to be like

When you leave a Resend event, we want you to feel glad that you were a part of it.

We strive to provide:

  • One "had to be there" experience.
  • One "this lives on my desk" swag.
  • One genuinely good reason to sign up.

There's a Japanese concept called ichi-go ichi-e, which roughly translates to "one time, one meeting." It means that every gathering is completely unique, never to be repeated again. Even if you gather the same group of people in the same space, that particular gathering can never be replicated. Each event is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

We strive to cherish them as such.

How we measure events

We don't.

Our events aren't about hitting KPIs or selling Resend plans. Our events are about connecting with people.

We've made important relationships at every event. And that's worth the investment.
